Martial arts classes are normally thought of for self-defense, being strong, fit, safe and confident. The truth is, it’s all that and WAY more! Reach out to us for more information about our classes and trial specials!
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to get to know you and your family. My intent is to teach your child(ren) the best personal self-defense skills I know, things they can and will use to protect themselves should they ever step into harm’s way. I’ll teach them the best kind of physical martial arts skills I am capable of and use that practice to help develop their coordination, strength, overall fitness, and I will do everything I can to give them a deep appreciation for the value and power of physical training –so that they stay as agile, fit, and capable as they can be, for their lifetime. I know that to be no small gift –fitness, agility, and physical health.
But we have an agenda beyond teaching the physical skills of the martial arts and creating fit and healthy students. We intend to be an integral part of the village of teachers and mentors that will assist you in teaching your child(ren) that attitude, perhaps above all other things, is the ultimate self-defense tool. I intend to teach them to be calm in the storm, to be resourceful when resources seem to be scarce, to be kind and compassionate and capable, even when everyone around them might be anything but.
I intend to take the things we will practice, diligently and repetitively and with great gusto on the mat –things like respect, the ability to work with others, the value of courage, how to turn bad situations into good ones, perseverance, determination, facing fear with a clear head, dealing with pressure by staying calm and breathing, courtesy, rapport building, confidence through having compassion for others, and how to focus, even when it seems nobody else can — and showing them exactly and 10,000 times if necessary, how to take these things off my mat and put them to work in their lives, to their own benefit and to the benefit of others.
I will be here, without fail, working to this aim –until I am no longer here. My goal is to be, if at all possible, a lifelong teacher, mentor, friend, and perhaps, someday, a student of your child. I’m telling you this because I believe in the power of “beginning with the end in mind.” This isn’t a sales pitch, this is our life’s work, what we were taught to do by our teachers, and we’re here to try and serve you and your family in the best way, in every way, to find the best of you.
See below for some of the other benefits of martial arts and let us know if it seems like something you would like to try or know more about!
They’re bright and intelligent, yet have trouble paying attention at home, in school or in any important situation, even being classified as an “ADD” or “ADHD” child.
They suffer from bullying. Or just as bad, they are the bully.
They are simply shy and lack the confidence and self-esteem needed to live up to their full potential.
They lack respect for you, their teachers, and their peers – throwing tantrums and causing tension for everyone around them.
They are great kids but they just don’t listen, often being told to do something a hundred times before they actually do anything.
They are missing out on a healthy role model.
There really is a safe, natural and extremely effective way to take charge and positively impact every aspect of your child’s life. It doesn’t take medicine, therapy, harsh actions, or cajoling your kids to change their behavior. Instead, it is teaching your kids self-discipline, hard work, confidence, and respect. This done in a way that empowers them while also teaching them humility, and promoting health and fitness… all at the same time.
Sounds like a wonder cure doesn’t it?
But there really is something that does all that. And that’s the power of martial arts classes.
Your kids’ everyday friends aren’t the main concern anymore when it comes to character development. Now you have to worry about all the negative and harmful influences that the internet can introduce into your children’s lives.
The true benefit or our classes are the character and success traits that are developed through martial arts training.
Through learning the skills and techniques of martial arts, to the guidance and inspiration of our instructors and the positive social interaction with their fellow classmates, your kids will develop a whole list of skills.
Face it. Between the foods we eat and the constant sitting and staring into screens and devices, many kids aren’t getting enough regular exercise.
Our martial arts classes for kids are full exercise routines disguised as a boatload of fun! That’s because they are jam packed with activities, games and drills that are all designed to disguise the repetition of training.
Of course it’s important for your kids to exercise and wear themselves out – they stay healthy, sleep well, and develop their minds and bodies. But just as important, our classes will help develop at a young age the physical habits they need to grow into healthy adults.
We never want our kids to have to use these skills in modern life, but every good parent still wants their kids to be safe.
That’s why our martial arts training is very serious about teaching your kids the skills needed for self-protection in any circumstance, from the neighborhood bully to a stranger on the street (and so much more).
But knowing how to defend oneself is only half the battle. Our classes teach your child the respect and self-discipline needed to diffuse a situation without violence whenever possible – as well as the knowledge to know when force is the only way to safety.
We never forget… kids are kids and they deserve to have some fun!
We can’t guarantee that their normal school teachers are making learning an enjoyable experience, but we DO guarantee that your kid will have a blast in our martial arts classes.
It really is a challenge to design a class that keeps children focused on learning, respect, and discipline while still having fun… but our classes are created just for that. They are so full of ideas, activities, and games that your kids will never get bored or stagnate.
It’s also a fantastic and healthy environment for them (and you) to make friends with other like-minded students. It really is a place where laughter, cheer and happiness abound.
Our family has been a part of the Peaceful Warriors “family” for 2 years now and it has been fantastic! Our youngest started in Tiny Tigers class, and after watching a few classes our oldest asked to start TKD as well. One belt cycle in and Dad joined up too, now all three boys are purple belts in the family class! The school is all about being the best YOU possible. THANKS Rose family!
I am so thankful for Peaceful Warriors. Our boys have found great instructors and teachers but also great friendships. My middle child doesn't even know how much he is learning because their games and stories are so entertaining. I drive 30 mins each trip to attend these classes because I guarantee that we would not find a better dojo.

One word, NO. It seems counterintuitive, but actually kids often become less violent as a result of marital arts training. It’s a method of channeling and relieving aggression, while at the same time increasing respect and care for others.
While we teach kids to be more tough and confident, it’s all in the name of self-defense and as a last resort – not as a weapon to attack. By learning self-defense they gain a better understanding of themselves and those around them, which actually promotes more peace for all.
The truth is people of all types and genders gravitate toward martial arts. Classes are filled equally with boys and girls.
Girls love the empowerment they feel from becoming stronger and more capable of handling a threatening situation. Their confidence soars and they more often than not become much tougher than the boys.
At the same time, any kids who struggle with team sports and other activities also tend to really enjoy marital arts. That’s because they get to progress at their own speed and their results are quite noticeable. This allows them to quickly gain confidence and self-esteem through their own actions.
Students are taught that all participants matter and the more skilled students are in no way more special than other students. Everyone is treated equally because martial arts is a personal development discipline and we all learn at different speeds.
This fact is celebrated throughout all of our classes.
The cool thing is anybody can learn at nearly any age.
Kids start as young as 3 years old and our classes go all the way up to teen and adult programs.
We all have to start somewhere and nobody is perfect from the get-go. That’s what makes martial arts so fun and challenging, your kids progress at their own natural speed no matter when they start.
So if your child starts at 3 years old or at 15, he will get proper instruction starting from the fundamentals and building from there. Either way, we provide everything needed to grow from the inside out.
While we can’t guarantee everybody loves it, almost all kids do! To start, there is a certain “cool” factor behind martial arts that gets the kids interested.
But what we’ve found is that once kids get started and into the training, they simply enjoy the activity and personal development. So while you may have to chase your kid around and force them to do other activities (even fun ones like team sports), kids are often waiting on their parents to take them to their next martial arts lesson.
We create the classes to be hard work disguised as fun. It’s also a place to interact with a bunch of other kids who share the same passion. As a result, the kids love it and parents love that their kids have found something they care about. Some parents even use martial arts as a way to reward good behavior!
First off, safety is the highest priority in our classes. All training is done following top safety standards and through the tradition passed down through ages of martial arts training.
Our modern classroom has all the proper gear necessary for a safe learning environment, from padded floors to safety pads when necessary. Instruction follows safety from day one, ensuring that the core safety standards are instilled in your child throughout the learning process.
All that being said, injuries do happen on a very rare occasion. That is the exception, not the standard. In reality, risk of injury and the injuries incurred are typically no greater or different than those that could happen from other modern actives and sports – such as football, soccer, baseball, and hockey.
The differences are really too many to count. Martial arts is a highly personal activity. Nobody gets left behind because all children advance at their own pace.
Your child will learn a talent that they can be extremely proud of. Not only does it look and feel very cool to their peers, but they gain a lot of skills that other activities don’t provide. While promoting fitness like other sports, martial arts develops a higher sense of self-awareness and the self-defense that other sports can’t offer. The skills they learn as a kid could very much save their life later as an adult!
Even though it’s not a team sport, our classes are taught in a highly social group setting. Kids progress at their own rate, but they also learn and interact with each other in the process. We’ve found that this interaction helps kids become more respectful of their peers.
Because it is a self-paced personal activity, kids tend to push themselves and grow to an incredible level. Team sports allow the better athletes to excel while the not so good ones can get left behind. With martial arts, no student is left behind.
